"I'm so, so, so excited!" Pinkie Pie shouted.

"About what?" said Rarity. She was sitting next to Pinkie Pie in the backseat of the large mini-van. She continued in a mild voice. "About our first Canter-Con? ...Or that we all got accepted into Hoof State?!" Rarity added the last part in a near excited squeal.

"Everything!" Pinkie Pie bounced in her seat.

"Pinkie Pie excited about everything? Who would've thought!" Rainbow Dash said with a light smirk.

"Really, how great is it that we all get to go to college together?" said Rarity.

"Well, Twilight is probably going to go to Our Lady of the Celestial University... after they give her that enormous scholarship!" replied Rainbow Dash, leaning forward to poke Twilight Sparkle in the driver's seat.

"Don't touch me while I'm driving!" Twilight Sparkle snapped. She gritted her teeth, hands clutched the wheels with white-knuckles. Even though she had gotten her driver's license almost half-a-year ago, she was as nervous as ever. "We don't know that I'm getting the scholarship- my application needs to be accepted over the hundreds of other applications!"

"How many other people applying can put that they saved the world multiple times?" Rarity added. "Talk about community service!"

"Or that they have literal super-powers?" Rainbow Dash said with a burst. "Come on, Twi, they've got to pick you!"

"Celestial University isn't so far from Hoof State, we'll visit you every weekend!" Pinkie Pie said with a confident nod. "Make sure you're having some fun in college and not just writing extra-credit papers."

"I'm glad we're getting to go to Canter-Con all together before college starts," Fluttershy added from the back-seat. "It will be a nice way to spend some quality time with my friends... even if there are going to be hundreds of other people there..."

"Yeah..." said Applejack with a concerned tone. "Speaking of, are you okay up there, Sunset? You've been pretty quiet."

Sunset Shimmer was sitting in the shot-gun seat. She was crouched over a large box of prints and buttons, with a panicked expression to match Twilight Sparkle's. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just going to one of the biggest pop-culture conventions in the state to sell my artwork for the very first time next to aisles and aisles of experienced artists. I'm totally fine. Why wouldn't I be? I've been drawing for just a few years, you know. Ha-ha-ha! Most of my life I didn't even have fingers! Fingers!!" She clutched the box tighter.

"Well, you certainly sound fine," Rainbow Dash said sarcastically.

"Don't worry, darling." Rarity smiled. "Your art is amazing! I'm sure everybody will be just as impressed with it as we are."

"And remember, its a convention!" Pinkie Pie chimed in. "We're here to have fun!! There's going to be contests, and food, and celebrity guests... and we're all together. You're going to have a great time, no matter what!"

Sunset Shimmer took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "You're right," She said in a more relaxed tone. "I'm going to have a great time hanging out with my best friends."

"And, hopefully, we won't have to deal with any evil Equestrian magic while we are there," Fluttershy couldn't finish her sentence before the other girls all groaned in unison.

"Please don't jynx this trip," Twilight Sparkle sighed. "I'm under enough stress as it is, without evil Equestrian Magic."

"Don't worry, Twilight." Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. "Even if there is a great big villain at Canter-Con, we can just ask the Twinkle Fairies to stop them. We won't need to lift a finger!"

"The Twinkle Fairies were a good addition to the Happy Hippos franchise!" Twilight Sparkle screamed and jerked her head back.

"Eyes on the road!" Fluttershy gasped, hiding behind her suitcase. Twilight Sparkle turned back around in a jolt. Lucky, the old mini-van was the only vehicle on the empty road toward the Canter-Con Convention Center. They hadn't even left their lane.

"Ple-e-ase," Rarity exaggerated the word. "Let's not talk about Happy Hippos 3 during our trip. I've had quite enough of that argument." Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy nodded in agreement.

"Uh, we're going to a convention right after the release of the anticipated conclusion to the Happy Hippo movie trilogy." Sunset Shimmer pointed out. "It might be pretty hard to avoid Happy Hippos there." She pulled out one of her prints of the Happy Hippo hero, Hopsy, and showed it to the others.

"Well, then let's not argue about it, at least." Applejack shrugged. "It's just a movie, anyways. I don't see why y'all are getting so up-in-arms about it."

"Happy Hippos is more than a movie! It's the coolest story to come out since Daring Do!" Rainbow Dash protested. "They took this old silly franchise and made something really awesome and then the third one just treated it like a joke. I have every reason to be upset."

"It wasn't a joke!" Twilight Sparkle growled. "It was an honest conclusion that took a daring, unexpected turn while also staying true to the heart-felt themes of the original Happy Hippos."

"Oh no," Fluttershy murmured. "It's happening. Again."

"It was lame!" Rainbow Dash waved her hands in a sweeping motion. "How is having some other character you'd never even heard of before swoop in and do everything for the hero at the last minute 'daring'? It's lazy!"

Twilight Sparkle said, "I told you! It was showing that even the great Hopsy needs help sometimes, like everybody does, and promoting the power of team-work. It was a subversion to our expectations as movie-goers."

"They just want to sell Twinkle Fairy toys." Rainbow Dash crossed her arms.

"Isn't the whole point of Happy Hippos to sell toys?" Applejack said dryly.

"Stop!" Pinkie Pie wailed loudly. "I want to have a good time with my friends at Canter-Con! Not get in a big silly fight!"

"Yeah, let's talk about something else." Sunset Shimmer looked fondly at Twilight Sparkle. "This might be the last time we get to really have a big trip before Twilight goes to Celestial University. I don't want to waste it getting all grouchy about movies."

Twilight Sparkle swallowed nervously. "Y-yeah," she said. "Let's have a good time. Oh! Our exit is coming up!"

"Uh,Twilight," said Applejack, looking out the window. "The sign said the exit is in 5 miles."

"That gives us plenty of time to alert the other drivers about our vehicle's intentions by engaging our turn signal." Twilight said with a smile.

"What other drivers?" said Fluttershy confusedly.

Twilight Sparkle took no mind. She flipped the lever by the steering wheel and the turn signal began to flash and click.

Cl-click. Cl-click. Cl-click. Cl-click. The girls listened to the monotonous clicking in silence for a few minutes. Cl-click. Cl-click. Cl-click. Cl-click.

"Uuugh, are we there yet?" Pinkie Pie moaned.
